Lagcoe to Host Lafayette's Largest Gumbo Cookoff - Roux Fest

Lafayette, LA - [February 2, 2024] Lagcoe is thrilled to host the Roux Fest Gumbo Cookoff at Blackham Coliseum on February 8, 2024. As the biggest gumbo cookoff in Lafayette, this culinary extravaganza will feature 62 cook teams from Texas and Louisiana, celebrating the rich culture of the region.

Competing in meat, seafood, showmanship, and people's choice categories, participants aim to be crowned the "King of the Roux." The event highlights the significant role of the oil and gas industry in Louisiana, creating a unique blend of flavors and traditions.

Local celebrities, chefs, and oil and gas figures will judge the competition, making it a diverse and exciting experience. A portion of the proceeds will support The Alyse Naquin Foundation, Inc., dedicated to assisting kidney patients and their families.

Fumy Rita, Lagcoe’s Executive Director, says, "We're excited to celebrate our culinary heritage and honor the industries that make Louisiana unique. Join us on February 8 at Blackham Coliseum for Lafayette's largest gumbo cookoff, a day of delicious gumbo, cultural festivities, and community spirit."
