Senior Commercial Specialist, Senior Engineer
On July 26, 2000, Cui Shiyang joined in the FCS, and is serving as the Senior Commercial Specialist in the United States consulate General-Chengdu. He is principal account manager for Energy (oil & gas, power generation, electrical power systems), Aerospace, building products, HVAC, transportation and defense etc.. Cui establishs close contact with local companies in Southwest China and organize two IBP delegations on OTC and PBIOS in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Cui has the full experience in oil & gas industry.
In 2001, Cui Shiyang was awarded by Ambassador Clark T. Randt, Jr owing to his outstanding performance and impressive accomplishments at the FCS-Chengdu, and an outstanding job in assisting U.S. companies to export to China.
In 2006, Cui Shiyang was awarded a Franklin Award by Consul General Jeffrey A. Moon for the exceeding targets and goals through highly effective team work,
In 1991, after graduating from graduate school of Shanghai Jiaotong University(one of the most famous university in China), he went to work for the Sichuan Machinery & Equipment Import & Export Corporation (SCMEC), one of the 500 largest Import/Export companies in China. His initial responsibility was to handle procurement for a project that SCMEC had contracted in Indonesia. Due to his excellent performance on this project, he was promoted to Senior Manager of SCMEC's international purchasing department. This position demanded that he worked with numerous companies from all over the world, the most notable being GE (U.S.), Babcock (Germany), Alstom (France) and GEA (U.S. and Germany). His next responsibility for SCMEC was vice-site general manager for a project in Syria. His duty was to monitor and direct business affairs for the site. He was then appointed as the vice-manager of SCMEC's Hydropower Department. His responsibilities there included contacting major equipment distributors and leading business delegations to other countries. From 1997 to July 2000, he worked as the manager of SCMEC's executive office. His primary duty in this position had been to work closely with Provincial authorities on the behalf of SCMEC. This position taught him the intricacies of government workings, especially from the business perspective.
