ALEJANDRO LOPEZ-VELARDE, ESQ.
ALEJANDRO LOPEZ-VELARDE was born in México City, México, and graduated with honors from the National Autonomous University of México in 1991 and the University of Houston Law Center in 1993. Mr. López-Velarde has published several articles in México and the United States regarding oil and gas, foreign investment and technology transfer, including: (i) El Derecho Competencial en la Industria Petrolera (Antitrust Law Applicable in the Petroleum Industry), ITAM, 1-58, 2000; (ii) Some Considerations on the New Foreign Investment Possibilities in the Mexican Oil and Gas Industry. Mr. López-Velarde worked as an attorney at Pemex for eight years. He was also an in-house counsel with the Pemex Houston Legal Department in 1992 and a visiting attorney at the Houston, Texas law firm of Baker & Botts, L.L.P. until October 1993.
Currently, Mr. López-Velarde is a Professor of Law on International Trade in the postgraduate program of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and partner at the López Velarde, Wilson, Abogados, S.C.
