International Visitors: International Services

LAGCOE was selected in 2011 the U.S. Department of Commerce as one of only 35 expos in the world to participate in its International Buyer Program. Through this affiliation, the show offered special services for international visitors. By traveling as part of an official U.S. Commercial Service delegation, international visitors are considered special guests by LAGCOE and the City of Lafayette. All foreign visitors were invited to the International Reception Tuesday, October 25, 2011 and other special functions. Representatives of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the LAGCOE International Committee were on hand to assist visitors in locating the products, services or equipment they sought or to meet with companies of particular interest. Interpreters were provided to facilitate any meetings, which took place in private meeting areas adjacent to the International Business Center.
The International Business Center featured a lounge area with complimentary business services and private meeting rooms where foreign guests enjoyed a comfortable space to conduct business. The International Business Center, located at the main entrance of the Cajundome arena, ensured high visibility and excellent foot traffic for all participants and sponsors. Foreign Commercial Service specialists were able to share their knowledge and expertise with local companies through international seminars and one-on-one counseling.
Major oil and gas companies, related industry service providers and manufacturers to the petroleum industry exhibit and attend LAGCOE. Louisiana companies offer many years of experience in offshore oil exploration and production and their expertise is known worldwide.
