International Visitors: International Buyer Program
LAGCOE was selected in 2011 by the U.S. Department of Commerce as one of only 35 expos in the world to participate in its International Buyer Program (IBP). LAGCOE continues to gain recognition as a first-class international show, where foreign attendees have a chance to make one-on-one contacts with industry decision makers and develop dynamic business relationships. The International Buyer Program, a joint government industry effort, is coordinated by the U.S. Department of Commerce to help recruit international buyers to attend the show. In this effort, the U.S. Commercial Service assists international visitors in meeting with targeted exhibitors, to cultivate partnerships and promote the sale of U.S. products and services.
International attendees to LAGCOE 2011 took advantage of many benefits not offered to foreign visitors at other trade shows. The exposition offered free admission to visit the exhibit floor, to attend technical sessions and to listen to keynote addresses. International visitors took advantage of the International Business Center with complimentary business services, refreshments, and business counseling, in order to match their needs with products and services offered by U.S. companies. Lastly, all foreign visitors were invited to attend the International Reception on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. This gala, traditionally held on Tuesday evening, features delicious Louisiana cuisine, live music, and the opportunity to network with exhibitors in a relaxed setting.
Living up to its reputation for southern hospitality, LAGCOE offers a prime opportunity for international visitors to experience the tastes, sights and sounds of Louisiana, while making valuable one-on-one business contacts with U.S. companies.
