Consul and Trade Commissioner
Consulate General of Canada, Dallas

Delon Chan was appointed Consul and Trade Commissioner with the Consulate General of Canada in Dallas in September 2014. The Canadian Consulate General is Canada’s official representation to Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas. The Consulate General of Canada promotes Canadian interests in trade, investment, energy, and the environment. Delon is responsible for building cross border business relationships between companies in Canada and the United States. Delon leads the Canadian Consulate General’s investment and innovation programs where he assists US companies in doing business with Canada, including investing and conducting R&D activities in Canada. Previously, Delon was in a similar role as the Consul at Consulate General of Canada in Detroit. Before that Delon was the Senior Marketing and Trade Officer with Agriculture and Agri-food Canada where he assisted Canadian companies in exporting their agricultural products and in commercialization of their agricultural technology. Delon has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Honours) from the University of Manitoba with a double major in finance and marketing and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
