Danielle McDaid is currently a Consul and Trade Commissioner responsible for the Oil & Gas sector at the Consulate of Canada Trade Office in Houston, Texas. Prior to this assignment, Danielle was a Trade Commissioner at the Ontario Regional Office in Toronto responsible for the Financial Services and ICT sectors. She worked at Global Affairs Canada’s headquarters in Ottawa as a Senior Trade Policy Advisor on various bilateral and multilateral trade policy negotiations and issues. Danielle has also undertaken other temporary assignments abroad with Global Affairs Canada in the U.S., Mexico and UK. Danielle completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Trade and Spanish & Latin American Studies at the University of Waterloo, and a Master’s degree in Global Politics from the London School of Economics & Political Science. She currently lives in Houston with her husband and young son.
